Starlink satellite broadband internet have launched in the Philippines. It was announced by SpaceX through a tweet that the service is now available in the Philippines.
According to a tweet posted on Wednesday by SpaceX, this internet service provider in the Philippines have started operating.
What is Starlink?
Starlink is a constellation of broadband satellites run by SpaceX. In some countries, it is a low-earth orbit satellite that offers high-speed, low-latency broadband internet.
Earlier March of 2023, the company marked its first connection in South East Asia after Pico de Loro beach goes online using the satellite broadband service.
Hardware types
- Standard – for Residential users and internet applications like streaming, video calls, online gaming & more.
- High Performance – for power user, Business, and enterprise applications. It has better speed, can connect to more satellites, and is more resilient to extreme environments.
- Flat High Performance – for RVs, mobility applications and challenging environments. It can connect to more satellites, more resilient to extreme environments and designed for permanent installation. Currently the only designated dish for in-motion use in approved countries. The hardware kit includes a power supply with wall mount, Wi-Fi router, cables and base.
Standard Starlink
Standard is perfect for usage at home. It is a portable antenna that is simple to set up but needs a clear sky to connect to satellites. 50 Mbps to 200 Mbps is the typical download speed. The top choice for regular internet apps, video streaming, video calls, and online games.
Business
High Performance Starlink can connect up to 20 people at high throughput with a maximum bandwidth of 350 Mbps and a latency of 20–40 ms. Support and an IPv4 address that can be publicly routable are priorities for business clients.
Roam (previously RV)
Flat High Performance Starlink has a wide field of view and improved GPS functionalities. It can connect to more satellites, enabling reliable connectivity while traveling.

Standard hardware costs around PHP29,320, while monthly service prices around PHP2,700.
Late 2024 is the anticipated release date for household services, and the 2023 rollout is for enterprise users.
