Smart, TNT and Sun SIM card registration guide

It’s not too late, you can still register your Smart, TNT and Sun sim cards all by yourself. Just go to Smart registration link https://simreg.smart.com.ph/ enter your mobile number and get OTP to start.

By July 25, 2023 (updated) all unregistered SIM cards will be automatically deactivated. Thus, registration is encouraged to all subscribers. To continue voice, SMS and data services, you are required to register Smart SIM cards in the Philippines in compliance to RA 11934 or SIM card registration act.

UPDATE: You are given until July 30 to register deactivated SIM cards.

Prepare your mobile phone with SIM card in it, get a valid ID and an internet connection. In the event of ID card capturing issues, you have to visit Smart SIM registration link using website portal.

Upon successful SIM card registration, smart subscribers can get a free 1GB of data for all sites for 3 days.

What Identification Cards are accepted?

  • Philippine Identification or National ID
  • Driver’s License
  • Unified Multi-purpose ID
  • TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) ID
  • Philippine Passport
  • Postal ID
  • Voter’s ID
  • SSS (Social Security System) ID
  • Professional Regulation Commission ID
  • PhilHealth ID

How to register Smart, Talk ‘N Text (TNT) and Sun Cellular SIM cards

  1. To register, visit https://simreg.smart.com.ph/
  2. Enter your existing unregistered mobile number and tap Send OTP. You have 5 minutes to input OTP then tap proceed (verify OTP).
  3. You will be redirected to the Customer Information section. Select the type of registration (ex: I’m registering my old SIM) and Nationality (Philippines).
  4. Select what ID card to be enrolled. After that, tap “Take Photo” to take image of your ID and continue by scanning your face. This is part of ID card verification.
  5. Your ID card number, Name, Birthdate and Gender will be automatically captured.
  6. Address Information- enter your complete home address.
  7. There is an optional section below where you can include an alternate contact number and email address. Smart will be using these contact details if they need to further validate the information you provided.
  8. Tap Next to continue, you will then have the Summary of SIM registration details. Review thoroughly and tick the box to confirm the data privacy agreement.
  9. Finally, tap Submit. A congratulatory message will be shown to you.
  10. Keep the SIM registration control number for future reference. This also serves as a Certificate of Registration number. You will receive an SMS copy of your registration number.

For Smart Postpaid, Infinity and Smart bro postpaid subscriber, just send YES to 5858 using your smart mobile phone.

SIM Registration for Smart Bro prepaid and Smart Bro Home Wi-Fi prepaid

To get an OTP for Smart Bro prepaid and Smart Bro Home Wi-Fi prepaid (formerly PLDT Home prepaid Wi-Fi), you’ll need to get access to a modem dashboard. Otherwise, take the SIM card out of the modem and insert it into a mobile phone.

If you prefer to get OTP using the modem dashboard, follow these instructions.

  1. Get your phone or Laptop then connect it to Smart bro prepaid Wi-Fi.
  2. Open web browser like Chrome, from the address bar, type the modem’s default gateway address http://192.168.1.1 then press enter.
  3. If privacy error notice appears: Your connection is not private, click Advanced button below and click proceed to 192.168.1.1(unsafe).
  4. Login to your Smart Bro by typing the username and password. The default username and password can be found underneath your modem. Here’s the default usernames; for PLDT Home Prepaid Wi-Fi: pldthome and for Smart Bro: smartbro.
  5. Click SMS tab to see text messages, here you can get the OTP sent from mobile number verification process.
  6. Proceed to https://simreg.smart.com.ph/ then enter your Smart Bro SIM number. get the OTP from the Modem dashboard.
  7. Input OTP then click proceed (verify OTP).
  8. You will be redirected to the Customer Information section. Select the type of registration and Nationality.
  9. Select what ID card to be enrolled. After that, upload your ID card and selfie photos.
  10. Type your ID card number, Name, Birthdate and Gender.
  11. Address Information- enter your complete home address.
  12. There is an optional section below where you can include an alternate contact number and email address. Smart will be using these contact details if they need to further validate the information you provided.
  13. Tap Next to continue, you will then have the Summary of SIM registration details. Review thoroughly and tick the box to confirm the data privacy agreement.
  14. Finally, click Submit. A congratulatory message will be shown to you.
  15. Keep the SIM registration control number for future reference. This also serves as a Certificate of Registration number. You will receive an SMS copy of your registration number.

In case you cannot access the default ip address of your modem, connect your laptop to it then find the gateway address.

  1. Type CMD from the search bar, then run Command Prompt terminal as an administrator. Click allow to proceed.
  2. Type this command ipconfig /all then press enter key.
  3. Under Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi, you’ll find the default gateway address, this is your Smart Bro’s current ip address.
