You can show the Wi-Fi password on Windows, Android, and iPhone. Wi-Fi passwords are stored in your device every time successful authentication is made. It will be kept unless you opt to forget the Wi-Fi name from the list.
To check the Wi-Fi password stored in Windows, you need to open Wi-Fi network settings. In an Android device, you have to scan the QR code generated from the Wi-Fi setting. In an iPhone, you’ll have to scan biometrics to show it.
Once you are done retrieving the Wi-Fi password, it is advised to keep it in your notepad for future reference.
How to Check Wi-Fi Password in Windows?
- Open the Windows laptop that is connected to the Wi-Fi network. If you have multiple wireless access points, connect them to the Wi-Fi that needs password retrieval.
- Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center. Alternatively, open Run (Windows key + R) then copy and paste the following control.exe /name Microsoft.NetworkAndSharingCenter then press enter.
- From the active Wireless Network list, click the Wi-Fi connection’s name.
- Under Wi-Fi status in General Tab > Connection > click Wireless Properties.
- Under Wireless Network Properties, click the Security tab, then tick the box to show the password.
How to Check Wi-Fi Password in Android?
To show the Wi-Fi password in Android, follow these steps.
- Go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi.
- Tap the Wi-Fi network name where you are connected. If not, turn your Wi-Fi on, connect to the Wi-Fi network, and tap it to show details.
- Your Wi-Fi network should display a QR code, the status of your connection, and the option to forget the network.
- Download the QR code image or take a screenshot of it.
- Once you have a copy of the QR code, open Google Lens or QR code reader and scan it.
- You’ll be able to see the Wi-Fi password.
How to Check Wi-Fi Password on iPhone?
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi (Choose your Wi-Fi network).
- Tap the current Wi-Fi network to see information.
- You’ll see the hidden password.
- Long press the password and scan your face.
- Your Wi-Fi password is now shown.
